Your Weekly Guide to Leveraging Technology in College Counseling
Welcome to Tech-Neill-ogy #27!
I’ll be brief to get things started this week as I’m in Portugal visiting universities, and I’m trying to cram work in between commitments. (Check out my LinkedIn post for more details!)
I’ve been very excited about the number of really positive conversations that I’ve been included on as of late about the impact of AI in individuals’ professional world. I think there continues to be plenty of skepticism about student use (and misuse), but there is a rising tide of users. Hopefully this newsletter contributes a little to your own journey.
Thanks, as always, to those of you who share resources with me. I appreciate all of it! In any case, feel free to drop me an email at [email protected]. I look forward to hearing from you!
Enjoy the newsletter!
In reading through another newsletter earlier this week, I was struck by the results that a similarly simple prompt to this one kicked out. Keep in mind that the one super valuable functionality of generative AI is your ability as a user to engage with it as a thought partner. For example, in using this prompt, consider digging into a particular point it makes to ask it to elaborate, expand, or provide more details about how to get started. Again, a “thought partner” rather than a tool…
I am a high school college counselor. Please provide me with 50 prompts that will help me be better at my job and more efficient.
As always, if you’d like to explore some of the other hacks, tips, and prompts I’ve shared here and elsewhere, check out this link. If you have any great prompts or questions about prompting, send me a note at [email protected].
That’s it for this week. Lots going on in the world around us. I’m particularly thankful to be able to be in Portugal at the moment. I hope you all are doing well!
Happy counseling,
Jeff
