Your Weekly Guide to Leveraging Technology in College Counseling

Welcome to Tech-Neill-ogy #38!

I have been traveling in the Middle East this past week. First Abu Dhabi and then Dubai and now in Jordan. It is always rejuvenating to get on the road, despite the sacrifices back in Brazil. Of course, I’m blessed with tremendous support both at home and in the office, something I never take for granted. That said, take a look here for more details.

I stumbled upon this tool AI Comic Factory whereby you enter some simple prompts, and the software creates some comic book images. See below for my attempt. Maybe something cool for some group presentations???

Always feel free to drop me an email at [email protected]. And thanks to those of you who always do reach out! I always look forward to hearing from you!

I stumbled upon this prompt in one of the AI newsletters I review, but I cannot find it now to attribute its source. However, it is a pretty cool one to explore for those of you who travel for work! I cannot share a live example for obvious reasons, but this is an ingenious way to simplify your expense reporting. (I’ve only recently started snapping pictures of my receipts while traveling after an instance of some lost receipts, so this is perfect here!)

<UPLOAD PICTURES OF RECEIPTS INTO CHATGPT>

Analyze each receipt and create an expense report based on the uploaded receipts. For each receipt, record the date, merchant, and amount, then categorize each expense.

I’m actually on a trip right now, but I plan to tweak this prompt to produce the exact spreadsheet that our business office requires as I think their software merely uploads the spreadsheet provided. Hopefully it works well! (Or, conversely, remember that you can ask ChatGPT to produce a CSV file of your expenses, depending on what you need!)

Some previous prompts are shared at this link. However, if you have any great prompts or questions about prompting, send me a note at [email protected].

In any case, lots going on around the world. So much in the news to keep track of, and so much to navigate in our world. Do yourself the favor of taking some time to relax this week!

And happy counseling,

Jeff
