Your Weekly Guide to Leveraging Technology in College Counseling
Welcome to Tech-Neill-ogy #48!
So it has been one full year since I began writing this weekly newsletter. I thought I had missed just 2 weeks (Christmas and Dengue), but my astute math skills show me I must have missed two other weeks at some point… In any case, thank you all for your support!
That being said, I have a small request for all 663 of you: would you do me the favor of sharing about this newsletter on your various social media platforms and email lists? Near the bottom of this issue, I’ve shared a graphic that you can download and post. I am blown away by the support and readership, and I would love to get this newsletter in front of even more. My goal is to hit 1000 subscribers by July 1! Please help by sharing this. Thanks in advance for your support with this pursuit!
That said, we are fully into the downhill sprint here at my end. Read more here on LinkedIn. Senior Week and graduation is next week, and then I’m off to New Orleans for NAFSA. Will I see any of you there?
And, particularly given the explosion of attention given to AI and all things technological, if you encounter anything interesting, please send it my way! I try to stay abreast of all I can find out there, but I am astounded to still find more resources that I’ve missed, many of which are shared by you faithful readers. Please send them my way!
For now, please enjoy this week’s newsletter!
All the chat this week around AI and college counseling has been College Genie, which was shared with me by Girish Ballolla, CEO at Next Gen Education. This is an exciting and innovative tool for college counselors. Not unsurprisingly, I’ve heard from many who decried this tool as some sort of death knell of human college counselors. I’m still convinced, as I have said many times, that AI will not replace college counselors, but we might be replaced by people who are using AI…
Take a look at this tool. I’d love to hear your thoughts, as I’m sure Girish and his team would.
Some previous prompts are shared at this link and on my YouTube channel. However, if you have any great prompts or questions about prompting, send me a note at [email protected].
Best wishes to all of you in these final weeks of the semester and with graduation, etc. Don’t forget to lend me a hand with sharing the good word about this newsletter with the graphic below! And let me know if you come across anything interesting!
And happy counseling,
Jeff
