Your Weekly Guide to Leveraging Technology in College Counseling

Welcome to Tech-Neill-ogy #62!

Things are off and running here with the school year! Week two is in the books, and week 3 will see some 110 university reps come to campus. (Read more here!)

This week I have a favor to ask! In preparation for a presentation at CIS in Basel later this semester, I would love it if you could complete this brief survey of just 6 questions on your use of AI. This will help us with our session. Thank you in advance!

Having spent a lot of time this past week talking with students about “trajectories” of all sorts (high school, college, career, etc), I found myself thinking about this article from last year. It’s worth a (re)read.

In any case, enjoy this week’s newsletter!

I found myself using prompts like this quite a bit this past week after meeting with all of our high school students grade-by-grade to prepare them for the slew of college visitors coming to campus this week as well as for the Clubs and Activities Fair that we hosted on Friday.

I am a high school college counselor. What extracurricular activities could I suggest to a grade 9 student who is interested in becoming an engineer?

If you have any great prompts, please share! Send me a note at [email protected].

I’ve got a couple of webinars this week, one on Tuesday with College Guidance Network and one on Friday for the IACAC Regional Forum in India. Hope you can join me!

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Happy counseling,

Jeff
