Your Weekly Guide to Leveraging Technology in College Counseling

Welcome to Tech-Neill-ogy #73!

It was a very busy week. Things kicked off for the first-ever BMI-THE Africa International Schools Workshop & Forum in Nairobi, Kenya. It was an amazing conference, full of learning and sharing. I delivered one session on assisting students with using AI in their applications. Then off to Abu Dhabi to deliver the opening two-day training for the third year of programming with counselors through a College Board and US State Department grant for ADEK counselors. Now I’m in the Netherlands visiting universities. Later this week I’ll head to Basel, Switzerland for the CIS Global Forum.

In any case, enjoy this week’s newsletter!

Here’s a fun prompt to try out as you seek to research different topics. Adjust the text in all capital letters. Give it a try!

Act as a graduate student in a the field of HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE COUNSELING. You have been tasked with writing a literature review for a research project ON THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE in the role of HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE COUNSELING. Your literature review should provide an overview of the existing research on a specific topic, and identify gaps or areas where further research is needed. Your literature review should include at least 10 peer-reviewed sources, published within the last 5 years, and you should critically evaluate and synthesize these sources to build a cohesive argument. Your literature review should be structured in a clear and logical way, with subheadings to help organize your ideas. Additionally, you should provide an explanation of the methodology used to search for and select sources. Finally, your literature review should adhere to APA style guidelines.

If you have any great prompts or ideas, please share! Send me a note at [email protected].

In closing, I am sure there are more in-depth articles out there on the impact of the recent election on higher education in the coming years, and there will certainly be more published, but I wanted to share this piece that I’ve been pondering over the past week as my non-tech article of the week:

Enjoy the rest of the week, and happy counseling,

Jeff
