Your Weekly Guide to Leveraging Technology in College Counseling

Welcome to Tech-Neill-ogy #99!

I hope you all had a nice week, especially those celebrating US Independence Day. I was able to spend time with my extended family in the mountains of Vermont. In any case, as NACAC President Angel Perez succinctly shares, a bill deeply impacting the future of higher education in the USA was passed on July 4. Read more from Angel here and to learn more about the sweep of the bill. I am still processing all of this, but if you have any ideas, I’m all ears.

For now, though, enjoy this week’s newsletter!

I found this enticing prompt by Sharma Deepak on his @askyourdigitalagency Instagram feed, which I find to be very good. Take a look:

Study the top 1% in [high school college counseling]. Reverse engineer their daily routines, thought processes, skills, and strategies. Then build a version of their system tailored to someone at my level who wants to reach that elite level fast.

Also, if you have any great prompts or ideas, please share! Send me a note at [email protected].

To end this week’s newsletter, I found this article on “unpacking” (including a reference to the Borges Map Problem) to be particularly interesting:

Enjoy your week! Happy counseling!
